A Day at the Park

So, get ready for a whole plethora of pictures from our day in Greenville.  We found the most amazing park in the downtown area and stayed for the afternoon.  The kids had a blast!  I can't wait to go back.

Sisters

That smile is too much!

Keekers

My sweet Rosie

I have about four of these shots.  She was on fire that day:)

Rosie, Auntie and Max

Such an awesome park!

Awkward Family Photo

Look at that grin!

Mason is such a sweet little man!

Picture Perfect

My guy...Did I mention I'll be glad when the mustache is gone?

Uncle Mike and the kiddos

Sweet Family

She loves leaves!

This is my favorite picture.  Mike is using his creepy mustache to portray a "creeper".  Well done, Mike.  Well done.

Little Cheesers

Poor Max had his fill.

LOVE this one!

I was hoping the ones in the leaves would turn out better.  Maybe next time.

Kiki, rolling down the hill with the big kids.

Life According to my Phone

Okay, so I'm sure you thought I had fallen off the face of the earth.  Things have been pretty intense around here.  From sickness to visitors, I haven't had a free moment.  Last November I participated in NaBloPoMo, National Blog Post Month and posted every day!  This year, not so much.  I think I've only posted four times this month.  To be honest, I've been pretty exhausted and now the girls are sick with another round of something and I think I'm on the verge of losing it.  I hate seeing them so sickly, although, I am enjoying Kiki "the cuddler".  We don't usually get much cuddling out of her.

So, where do I start with the happenings over the last few weeks?  I went through the pictures on my phone to try and get some help in remembering what we've been up to...

This is a picture of the busted blood vessel in my eye from throwing up so much when I got the stomach flu.  Pretty glamourous;)

Trip to the park on a pretty afternoon

 Kiki loves her some slide

Melissa, Maria and I had a fun, spur-of-the-moment afternoon at the Biltmore.

We got a few treats to share...please don't compare the number of treats to the number of people.

The girls at the Biltmore

The Biltmore at Christmas is pretty breathtaking!

Thanksgiving!  Mason and Max had both thrown up at this point and were sleeping.  Yes, we love to share our stomach flu with all visitors.  Anyone want to come visit?

The food...I'm always intrigued by what others eat for Thanksgiving, so I thought I would share ours.

The Bros and their 'staches.  Mark said he might un-stache tonight.  I can't say that I'm too sad about it.

Rosie and our tree.  She had so much fun putting up the ornaments, although 95% were in that lower right area.

I was trying to take a picture of how the blood in my eye had settled in a red outline around the iris, but the glare wouldn't let it happen.  So instead, I'm showing you how my curls turned out using the curling wand.

The girls and I today.  We hung out in my bed for a big portion.  My poor little ladies.

I also turned 32!  Let's face it, I'm old.  We ended up going to Greenville on my birthday.  I have a ton of pictures we took, but I'll post those in a separate entry.  I'm sure there are a lot of things I've forgotten, but it's all kind of a blur.  So, now that we're all caught up, I'll try to be more deliberate about posting.  Fingers crossed!

Christmas Card Time

I love Christmas Cards!  I tried a bazillion out last night, and finally decided on one.  Yes, Mark's mustache made an appearance this year, which I swore wouldn't happen.  We still haven't been able to do our family portraits and with the new sickness that just arrived at our house, I don't know if we will ever be able to leave our house again!  I had to make do and the 'stache made the cut.  Only one more day and that thing is gone!  See you next year, Movember!  I used Shutterfly again, and I would definitely recommend them!

I can explain...

I've been very delinquent with my blogging since getting home from our mega-trip.  I've sure wanted to, but I haven't been able to find the time.  I have to admit, I've had a lot on my plate, including a very ugly run-in with the stomach bug.  I've never been so glad to be rid of something in all my life.  It hit the girls and I hard.  Luckily, it skipped over Mark and he was able to take good care of us.  Him, along with some wonderful friends!

Since then, I've been busy doing laundry and sanitizing the house for our company.  We have Stephen and Michelle here right now, Shelley is coming tomorrow, and Mike, Melissa and the boys are coming on Tuesday.  We are so excited!

I promise to really dedicate more time to blogging this next week.  I haven't even picked up my camera in a whole week!  That's totally not like me!  I have a few projects that I'm excited to share, as well.  But, until then, have a good night!

Home Sweet Home

Eighteen days is a long time to be away from home!  It was bittersweet arriving late Sunday night.  We were so sad to say goodbye to all of the friends and family we got to see along the way, but it was great to get home to normality!  I've been on a cleaning/organizing kick since we got home, so that's consumed most of my time.  We had absolutely zero food in our fridge.  Unless you count the box of what used to be strawberries that I accidentally didn't throw out before we left.  They had morphed into tiny little fur balls...yum:)

Since coming home, I've decided to "get back to basics".  I want to focus my energies on God, my family, and being healthy.  Did I mention I gained 7 pounds on the road?  No bueno.

Rosie has been on a roll lately.  She's been both hilarious and naughty.  Here are a few of her antics and some of the silly things that have come out of her mouth...

  • She came downstairs where Kiki was eating and said, "Kiki, my friend.  Let's play!"
  • I had cleaned the toilet and didn't flush the blue stuff away before Rosie climbed on to go potty.  She looked down and saw the blue, and I told her just to flush it.  She said, "No way!  I don't want my bottom to sail away!"
  • She asked me if I loved strippers.  I didn't know what to say!  She followed it up with, "I love strippers and daddy REALLY loves strippers."  Finally it hit me that she meant, stripples...the vegetarian bacon we eat:)
  • As I mentioned earlier, there was no food in our house, so for dinner last night, I made the girls frozen pancakes.  Well, I warmed them, so they weren't frozen anymore.  Anyway, they started eating, and I ran upstairs to dust my bedroom really quickly.  Rosie yelled up that she needed more syrup.  Note to self...never tell your kid that they can get their own syrup.  I came downstairs about a minute later to the stickiest mess I have ever seen.  Rosie had filled Kiki's bowl to the top with syrup, which Kiki had proceeded to rub all over herself, the table and the floor.  Lesson learned!

Here are a few pictures from Halloween.  Mom and I took the girls to the pumpkin patch before picking Mark up from the airport.
