Our First Band-Aid

We had a lovely weekend.  Friday evening was so nice and relaxing.  It doesn't get much better than a quiet Friday night with the people you love most in the world.  On Saturday, we took Rosie to Sabbath School and then on to Church.  Then Kenneth and the Meharry's came over for a wonderful lunch and fun afternoon in the backyard.  The weather was everything I had hoped for.  We were able to lay on a blanket and soak up the sun while the guys played frisbee golf, tennis, and lawn darts around us.  It was just amazing to be outside!!!  We grilled for super and that always hits the spot.

Sunday was even nicer.  It was the perfect day for Mason's 3rd b-day party.  It was a "Cars" theme and he was as happy as a clam to have everyone there to celebrate him.  You should have seen him when we sang "Happy Birthday".  He was ecstatic!  I tried to take pictures, but my camera was giving me fits.  He is such a cutie and we were very excited to spend the afternoon with him.  It's been so fun watching him grow up in front of us.  I will always treasure the time I have gotten to live close to my little nephews, as you never know when something could change.  It's been a real treat.

We came home and rested and cleaned.  We also did some grocery shopping and worked in the yard.  It looked like it was going to storm, but nothing came to fruition.

One pretty devastating thing happened when we were playing in the backyard.  Monroe fell and got her first major boo boos.  She only whimpered for a second, but I think I was more upset.  Her perfect little knees now have their first scrapes:(  She was a trooper as I washed them, applied neosporin and bandaids.  You could tell they hurt her, but she's a pretty tough cookie and definitely had her brave face on.

I still get queasy looking at them:)
The look on her face is priceless.

My closest friends know my great love for Indian Food.  I love, love, love it!!! It's amazing.  My perfect meal would start with a yummy batch of vegetable pakoras with a mix of chutneys, and finish with Mutter Paneer with raita and garlic naan.  Makes your mouth water, doesn't it?  Well, not anymore for me.

Ever since getting pregnant, Indian food has disgusted me big time.  The thought of it makes me nauseous. The other day my boss convinced me to give it a go and I spent the evening in the restroom, throwing it all back up.  That definitely didn't help my aversion to it.  I feel so bad for Mark.  He loves it just as much as I do!  Hopefully, this won't be forever!

During this pregnancy I have started craving lots of fruit--namely grapes.  I buy two huge cartons of grapes and they are all gone by the end of the week.  Anything refreshing is on my list of must haves.  I still am loving sweet drinks.  There have been a couple of times that I've had to send Mark out for a 2 liter of Sprite or Ginger Ale.  I love adding a fresh lime!  Oh, how yummy.

Rosie has really started to show how girlie she is lately.  You don't often see her without a doll/stuffed animal or pushing her baby stroller.  She loves fastening her little animals/babies/balls/you name it, into the little stroller.  She wraps anything up in a blanket and rocks it to sleep.  In the last few days, she has really been interested in purses.  She turns anything into a bag that she can carry around on her shoulder.  Yesterday, she was walking around with the bag I send her food in to Shelley's.  When I looked inside the bag, she had the invitation to Mason's party, a comb shaped like a giraffe, and her sippy cup--just the necessities.  Don't get me wrong, she loves a good ball and a tonka truck from time to time, but you can definitely tell the difference between her and her many friends that are boys.

Our menu for this week is:

Monday:  Tacos, Rice and Black Beans
Tuesday:  Hotdogs on the Grill and a big salad
Wednesday: Fettucini Alfredo and baked Asparagus (Stephen, I wish you were here to help me with the sauce like you did in Tulsa...miss you)
Thursday: Potato Soup
Friday: Haystacks
Saturday: Cottage Cheese Patties, Baked Potatoes and Salad
Sunday: Leftovers

I better run!  On my free days, I have so much to get done.  So glad that I only have to work two days this week!!!!  They will be super busy, crazy days, but I don't mind a bit!  Love you all:)
