Branching Out

It was a very busy day at work.  I was on my feet from the start to the finish, but I probably needed that.  I was never so glad to get home, though.  Only two more days:)

I've been really working hard on eating fewer sweets.  It's been a challenge, and I have to be honest, I had a hard time tonight and succumbed to temptation.  This is what I ended up eating a few of...

I said I was giving up sweets...not semi-sweets:)

The mobile is really starting to take shape.  Below is the branch, painted white.  I decided it was a little boring, so I thought it might be nice to add some flowers.  I made these tonight, but I'm not totally sold.  I haven't attached them yet.   Any thoughts?  I'm still trying to figure out how I want to attach the birds.  At first I was thinking fishing line or thread, but then I started thinking ribbon might be sweet. I will probably have to do some experimenting.

My favorite part of this project is that it has been totally free. Well, of course I originally paid for the fabrics, etc., but everything is made from things I've had on hand--scraps leftover from older projects.  It doesn't get much better than that!

Before I sign off, I must mention my new favorite show...The Voice!  It is quality television!!!  If you haven't given it a chance, you must.  There really are some stellar voices and I enjoy the banter between the judges/coaches.  The premise is fresh and I love the way they've carried it out.  Just thought you should know:)
